Among the beautiful beaches of Formentera, the small beach of Cala Saona deserves a special mention , a beauty hidden among the rocks of the island’s west coast.
You can reach it by a deviation a few miles away from the village of San Francesc, heading southwest.
The less than 200 metre long beach represents the beauty of the Mediterranean landscape at its best:turquoise-colored waters, bright white sands, red rock walls that enclose the beach along with the typical vegetation of pine, rosemarie and juniper, releasing theirunmistakable fragrances.
Despite its small size, Cala Saona offers all the necessary services for a perfect day at the beach with all comforts: sun bed and parasol hire, water sports and, of course, kiosks and restaurants where one can find refuge from the summer heat, or enjoy a nice seafood dinner overlooking the cove.
In high season Cala Saona remains a favourite destination for island residents and fans, despite its hiddenposition compared to the well known routes of Formentera.
